  1. For the brownie: place the chocolate chips, butter, date paste, and salt in a bowl.

  2. Melt in the microwave or over a bowl over a pan of hot water.

  3. Stir in the oats, flour, and cocoa powder, then add the vanilla extract.

  4. Finally, mix in the eggs.

  5. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.

  6. Pour into a parchment-lined baking tray and bake at 175 °C (350 °F) for 30–35 minutes.

  7. While the brownies bake, prepare the caramel sauce: In a saucepan, caramelize the sugar slowly over low heat.

  8. Once caramelized, add the warm cream and butter. Season with salt and cook until it thickens into a sauce consistency.

  9. Let it cool slightly, then drizzle generously over the finished brownie.
