  1. Make the caramelized onions: cut the red onions in half and slice them

  2. Heat oil in a pan, add the onions, then the balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.

  3. Cook on medium heat for at least 30 minutes.

  4. Place the bacon on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 180 °C (355 °F) for 15–20 minutes until crispy.

  5. Fry the meat patties in a pan, season with salt and pepper, and while cooking, break them up into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon.

  6. When they are almost cooked, add pieces of the sliced cheese on top.

  7. For the burger sauce, mix the ingredients together in a bowl.

  8. Spread the Doritos Nacho Cheese chips on a plate.

  9. Top with the iceberg lettuce, then cherry tomatoes.

  10. Add the caramelized onions on top. Then top with the cheesy meat.

  11. Add the sauce and then crumble the crispy bacon on top.
